Every three months or calendar Quarter, Shorty holds a Controller Class to instruct members on how to use and Control the WIN System. These classes are held whenever Shorty can fit them into his busy schedule.   The classes switch off between a site up north and down south. Check the Calendar Page to find out when and where the next class is.

The Controller Class begins at 9:00am and generally runs until 1:00pm. It is an intense 4 hours of instruction.  If time permits, Shorty likes to take a field trip up to one of the closer sites so that the class can see first hand what a repeater looks like.

Once Shorty gets through the “Controlling” portion of the class... he likes to discuss a topic of general interest to the group. Past topics have been antenna theory, Satellite Contacts, and many others. He will also answer any technical or operational questions that you may have about the WIN System or radio in general. Attendance usually ranges from 10 to 30 folks.

The Controller Class is attended by many repeat ”students”, as the subject matter is constantly changing on the WIN System, as we add more and more goodies to the System
